Ability

There will always be someone to do it better than you. Ability doesn’t matter when God has placed his passion in your heart.

Can’t Stop

It is imperative that we not lose sight or lose heart in this work.  Church planting is an investment in the Kingdom.  God is at work even when we don’t see his activity.  We cannot stop and must continue in faithfulness.

Catechism for the Children

A catechism is a summary of the principles of Christian religion in the form of questions and answers, used for the instruction of Christians. In this new year I am focusing my attention to truly teaching my children the doctrines of the faith from the Bible.  So far so good.  What an important responsibility we have to train our children.  They are worth the sacrifice.

Musical Dryness

I have been so blessed and fortunate to plant NorthBridge Church.  Being a lead pastor has given me immense opportunity to teach/preach but I have been missing the music thing.  I pray that 2012 brings more opportunities to sing and use my musical gifts.

The BIBLE

Our church is ramping up to an exciting series on the Bible.  This week we will learn what the Bible is and what it is not. How much do I know about the book that is the central hub of my faith?  That question alone should compel me to study more and dedicate more time to knowing God’s Word.

We’ve Only Just Begun!!!

This has already proven to be an amazing journey.  I am understanding that reliance on God and not my ability or charisma is the only way to persevere in church planting.

This Sunday I am preaching a message on sharing the Gospel.  I have really considered what keeps believers in Jesus Christ from sharing the truth.  This is not exhaustive but, speaks to a few things that keep the Gospel contained and not shared.

What holds us back from sharing our faith?

  1. We get complacent and wrapped up with life – primarily things that do not have eternal value.
  2. We have a lack of knowledge about God’s word and eternity.
  3. We are just plain selfish and think mostly about ourselves.
  4. We don’t take the Bible at face value – hell is a literal place.
  5. We are too busy – or we think we are too busy!

This list is by no means exhaustive.  I would love to hear from you!  Please share your comments about why Christians get paralyzed in sharing about Jesus Christ.

Ministry at Home….FIRST!!

My first ministry is to my family.  If I fail serving my family then I have failed all together.  My wife and children need me to be a godly leader of our family first.  From these relationships, all others are possible.  I must ask God daily for patience as I lovingly serve my family.  This service will give me a greater influence outside of the home.

Must Be Connected to Get Power!

So today I asked my son to plug my phone into the power cord so that it could be charged. A few hours later I asked him for the phone and he said it was downstairs. I went looking for it and found it sitting in the middle of the floor connected to the cord but the cord was not plugged into the wall. The lesson I learned from this is that I can have Jesus in my life but if I am not connected to him daily it does not do me any good!

CD is almost in hand!!

I am looking forward to sharing my new CD with friends and family in Tampa.   Stay tuned for details on dates and places!!
